Discover the secrets and different parts of one of the oldest buildings in Figueres, the Church of Sant Pere, around which the mediaeval town was created. It’s been the setting for significant historical events, such as a royal wedding and the bombardments during the Spanish Civil War. And don’t miss the spectacular views of the city from the bell tower!
Even though the city of Figueres was distant of the war front prior to the concluding months of the Spanish Civil War, the armed conflict affected the city since the very first moment.
The day by day of its citizens utterly changed and two clashing sides were created. Hopelessly, the city’s physiognomy had already switched.
We suggest you a guided tour to discover the history of these war years in the city of Figueres, in which is also included, among other visiting points, the entry of the air raid shelter located in the “Plaça del Gra”.
